With a nose that reveals dark fruits, discreet herbal notes, and a palate that shows rich, round generous flavours of Plum, Dark Cherry, Chocolate and integrated Oak spice – you would have to be talking about Wolf Blass Merlot. Vintage  2012 Merlot offers ripe Plum fruits and a fleshy textured palate – all wrapped in medium – bodied style, which goes well on it’s own or with a range of meals.

VINEYARD REGION:  South Australia

VINTAGE CONDITIONS:

 A warm spring and relatively cool, even summer with minimal rain resulted in healthy vines producing well-balanced, aromatic wines with great colour, bright fruit characters, intense flavours and good natural acidity.

MATURATION:  Partially matured with the careful use of oak to produce a balanced, integrated wine.

PEAK DRINKING:

Enjoy now in its youth or cellar for up to three years.

WINEMAKER COMMENTS:

COLOUR:  Deep crimson with purple hues.

NOSE:  Lifted blood plum aromas with a hint of sweet spice.

PALATE:

This wine boasts a plummy mid-palate with sweet spice and hints of chocolate. Subtle use of French and American oak has enhanced the structure and length of the palate.
