Bullroarer

The bullroarer was used throughout the ancient world and served as a musical wind instrument used in ritual ceremonies. The sound made by the bullroarer was often said to be the sound of the Rainbow Serpent, or Rainbow Snake, which was a creator god in the Aboriginal Dreamtime mythology.
